Chicago chef Andrew Zimmern, host of the Travel Channel’s popular “Bizarre Foods” program, paid a visit to Daviess County Sheriff Ben Becerra. Viewers will have a chance to see the program involving Jesse James at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30.
A television film crew visited the sheriff at his South Big Creek Ranch and Off Road Park for a chance to go bow hunting for deer late last year. There were about a dozen people from the show, and Gallatin’s Tim Carder and his Broken Arrow Barbecue provided lunch for them, the sheriff said.
“I had a deer hanging and showed him how to cut a fresh loin from the deer,” Becerra said. “Then there was a visit with my mother, who has a way with cooking venison hearts and liver.”
Suddenlink customers will be able to see the show on Channel 81.
