The Franklin County Historical Society hosted a program by Sheriff Gary Toelke Monday, Aug. 14, at the Franklin County Historic Courthouse.
The Veterans Hall of Fame also was open.
Toelke, who began his career in 1975, retired as the longest serving sheriff in Franklin County.
He discussed what was involved in investigations, as well as how they began and progressed up to their conclusion.
Toelke answered questions after his program.
Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton and Judge Larry Davis also attended.
The Franklin County Historical Society’s Museum, located at 15 North Oak, is open on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
The group is interested in documenting stories and pictures of Franklin County and residents.
The museum features donated Franklin County family books, items and picture displays.
