Right on the heels of completing the Basic Supervision School last week, the MSA Firearms Instructor School got underway today in Jefferson City. Class size was limited due to the intense nature of the practical live-fire range exercises. Next month MSA is offering a POST approved Instructor Development School May 8 – 12 at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office in Versailles. We will offer the same course again June 20 – 27 in Jefferson City at our Training Academy location. Both classes are covered by agency training contracts. Cost to attend from a non-contracted agency is $500.00.

Don’t miss this opportunity to develop you teaching skills! Graduates will be able to take what they learn back to their agency and provide POST approved continuing education classes in-house at little to no cost to their agency.

Look for additional training opportunities on our training calendar at www.mosheriffs.com. Also check out classes offered through our online learning management system. Individuals can complete all POST mandated training for 2017 (including the newly mandated topics) except for the required skill development training in firearms.

Oh, and don’t forget, MSA is accepting applications for its part-time Basic Peace Officer Academies. Applications are due by June 1st. Veteran benefits and financial aid is available for those who qualify. Check out our website for more details.
