Shane Dean Ribbing, 33, of Nixa, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1984, in Springfield, the son of Jerry and Debra (Gold) Ribbing.

Shane was a 2003 graduate of Marionville High School in Marionville and attended the Missouri Sheriff’s Association Training Academy. He served on the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and was a Christian County Sherriff’s Deputy. Shane was a resource officer for Nixa Public Schools since 2015 and was a member of the Nixa’s First Baptist Church. On June 3, 2006, he married Carmen Davis, in Aurora.

Shane is survived by his wife of 11 years, Carmen; three daughters, Alexis, Emma and Olivia; parents Jerry and Debra Ribbing of Marionville; sister Stefanie Hohensee and husband, Josh of Monett; nephew Luke Hayes of Monett; paternal grandmother Helen Ribbing of Aurora; maternal grandparents Wayne and Juanita Gold of Aurora; father and mother in-law Kevin and Teresa Davis of Verona; and sister-in-law Kimberly Davis of Marionville.

Shane’s paternal grandfather, Dean Ribbing, preceded him in death.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. April 18 at First Baptist Church, Nixa. Burial followed at Spring River Cemetery, Verona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Benefit of the Ribbing Family at the Bank of Missouri in Nixa or to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
