Some of the counterfeit bills that has showed up at businesses in Washington County, Missouri, according to Sheriff Zach Jacobsen.

 

 

A rash of counterfeit money reports is filtering into the Washington County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office.

Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen says that so far nearly $3,000 in fake bills has been seized.

The sheriff’s office says they have received multiple calls from various businesses in the county reporting an increase of counterfeit money being used to purchase items.

These incidents are under investigation.

Anyone with information about the phony cash is urged to contact police.
