The Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Police Department, and the South Central Drug Task Force announced today the conclusion of a long term narcotics investigation in Dent County. The South Central Drug Task Force, in coordination with the Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Police Department, Phelps County Sheriff’s Office, Rolla Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 18 people during an early morning raid.

Over the course of several months, undercover operatives with South Central Drug Task Force, Rolla Police Department, Phelps County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol were able to conduct a series of covert narcotics investigations involving the distribution/sales of methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, and prescription medications.

Prior to the raid, the Dent County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued arrest warrants for 23 loosely affiliated individuals involved in the investigation. Arrest teams consisted of members of the Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The following individuals have been taken into custody:

• Daniel R. Hartsfield, 47, Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $200,000 cash only.

• Natalie D. Weikel, 26, Salem, charged with four counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine and prescription narcotics – morphine and OxyContin) with bond set at $200,000 cash only.

• Marcus A. Kitson, 28, Salem, charged with four counts of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana) with bond set at $200,000 cash only.

• Jeremey P. Jackson, 30, Salem, charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine and prescription narcotic – morphine) with bond set at $200,000 cash only.

• Mersadie L. Mansfield, 25, Salem, charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $150,000 cash only.

• Amy L. Freeman, 32, Salem, charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance (heroin and prescription narcotic – buprenorphine) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Calvin L. Oliver-Fountain, 24, Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Robert Schlegel, 24, Salem, charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Stephen R. Jones, 63, Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (prescription narcotic – morphine) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Jamie L. Hatcher, 38, Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Dustin S. Pogue, 33, Edgar Springs, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (prescription narcotic – buprenorphine) with bond set at $100,000 cash only.

• Nathan K. Cantanzaro, 24, of Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $75,000 cash only.

• Jeanne M. Bourbon, 33, Salem, charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $75,000 cash only.

• Tyler R. Steelman, 23, Salem, charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana) with bond set at $75,000 cash only.

• Justin K. Nelson, 24, Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana) with bond set at $50,000 cash only.

• Jessica A. Warnke, 29, Davisville, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $50,000 cash only.

• Sondra A. Coleman, 44, of Salem, charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (prescription narcotic – morphine) with bond set at $25,000 cash only.

• Michael T. Simmons, 24, Salem, charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with bond set at $10,000 cash only.

The success of this investigation was only possible through the cooperative efforts of all member agencies of the South Central Drug Task. Additional indictments and arrests are anticipated throughout the Dent County area. The above arrest is a mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
